Gergana Lapteva is a contemporary Bulgarian writer, author of three travelogues about South America and Antarctica and the novels "The Coin" (2020), "Divine Fragrance" (2021), "The Secret of Apamea" (2022), "The Third Layer" (2023), "The girl in the portrait" (2024), "La joven del retrato" (2025) and "Caesar's Treasure" (2025), based on real events and historical facts. The genre in which he works is a historical thriller.
It is no coincidence that Gergana's work has been compared to that of Dan Brown. . Gergana Lapteva was born in Sofia. She graduated the "Iliya Petrov" School of Fine Arts with specialty "Painting". Higher education received at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ", specialty "Paleontology ".
Is a member and works in the National Polar Research Center and Bulgarian Antarctic Institute - National Operator of the Bulgarian activities in Antarctica as head of the Culture Department. She has participated in seven expeditions to Antarctica as an artist and photographer in a number of "eco art" projects (a contemporary art form aimed at creating in harmony with the environment created by artists who are concerned about local and global environmental situations, believing that the restoration of man's relationship with nature is one of the priorities for modern society). She is the founder and coordinator of the ECONANTAR program. Gergana Labeva's name carries the island of Lapteva. The name was given by the Antarctic Names Committee (to the MFA) for the contribution of Lapteva to the activities of Bulgaria in Antarctica. It is located in the archipelago of Palmer, Antarctica. Gergana is an author of the books: "The Unknowns Southern land - Terra Australis Incognita", "Direction South - travel to Antarctica", "The Gate of the Gods.
